SPRINGVILLE, California — The new Springville Branch Library has opened at 35697 Highway 190 after an October 9, 2026, community celebration. The Tulare County Library’s updated branch history confirms that the new 3,200-square-foot building opened in 2026, replacing smaller quarters that had served residents for decades.
What’s inside the new building
The county’s opening announcement describes more than 1,000 additional square feet compared with the previous branch. Amenities include books, DVDs, magazines, public computers, a family workstation and a community room with an outdoor patio. The room is intended to be available to the public during opening hours when it is not reserved for meetings or other events. Residents should confirm availability and any reservation rules before planning a gathering.
The opening program was scheduled for Friday, October 9, with local officials, community representatives, crafts and music. Tulare County Library’s branch page confirms the opening year; the ceremony announcement is not evidence of any new event scheduled for November.
A long local history
Springville’s library roots extend to 1911, when residents established a deposit station in the Springville Hotel. For a period during construction, the Springville Chamber of Commerce hosted a temporary pop-up service. The new library recognizes the contribution of longtime community supporter Virginia Radeleff and features work by artist David Wesley Richardson.
Families and adults can use the new building for reading, access to information and digital services. Check current opening hours directly with the library rather than relying on the outdated temporary-closure listing on third-party library directories.
